Seven Models ©1992 Dolores Marusarz

You may be asking, "What seven models?" You were perhaps tricked by the title? It is titled that way because I painted this work by using seven different photographs. One showed the trio. Another showed some of the background flowers. Another showed the tree, which was growing on the Brandywine Battlefield at the time of the Revolutionary War. Another shows the building, which General Burgoyne stayed in at one time. Another showed the pottery, etc., and so in the end seven models served as a basis in the composition of this one painting. This painting was done on five-ply birch, primed with rabbit-skin glue and gesso. It was sanded smooth before paint was applied. Most of the painting is done in egg tempera, but the finishing work on the people and clothing was done in oils.

The work measures 18 X 24" and is unframed. It is for sale for $400.00.
