GUEST COMMENTARY

Here you see the final moment of the setting sun brilliantly lighting a large old pine tree. I took this photograph of it while visiting my late mother's home in Lyndon Station, WI. I spotted the scene from her house and quickly grabbed my camera to capture the waning moment of the day. If I had waited just a moment longer the sun would have dipped behind a hill and the photograph of this tree would not have the drama that inspired me to make this painting.
