Myrick Park Marsh ©2001 Dolores Marusarz

A great blue heron rests on rotting wood in the marsh at Myrick Park, a wonderful wildlife area the cuts the city of La Crosse in half hoizontally. One of several river bluffs and some hills in Hixon Forest can be seen in the background. The marsh, called by some a swamp, attracts a great many birds and is home to other water dwellers and visitors as well.

This serene marsh is crossed by a walking/jogging path that has seen me many times. I often have my camera with me to capture its moods and its peace-begetting beauty.

This oil painting measures 24 X 36" and is in a relatively wide wooden frame colored like pickled oak.
