This original portrait of Martin Luther King, Jr., was done in oils on a linen canvas. It is a composite of a number of photographs and movies of him. The background sunset was modeled after a photograph I took of a sunset from an overlook on Route 95 near Arcadia, WI. I felt that the golden sunlight would be the ideal lighting for Dr. King's face.

This painting of Dr. King was displayed during the 2003, 2004, and 2005 Dr. King Day Rememberances at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse, Western Wisconsin Technical College, and the La Crosse Center.

This painting measures 24 X 36 inches.
